A Memorable Night

At the age of 13, I started to work on the church without anything in return. I’m an acolyte. I usually served the priest every time he has a mass, by means of assisting him. We hold the mike, book, the challis anything that are needed in the mass. One night, after the mass ended, I was schedule to clean the church. The people around went home and the priest was already in his room and I was only left in the church. Then, I started now cleaning. I map the floor, put some wax and polish it. At around eleven o’clock, I’m almost done with my work. Then suddenly, I herd some peculiar noise at the back. As I went closely, I herd something was crying. She’s a girl with long white clothes at about 11 years of age I guess. I ask her “why are you crying? What are you doing here?” then he looked at me with angry face. I ran back to the altar and screaming. I went to the priest room to tell what happened to me. I was so frightened at that time. Then, I went back with father at the place where I saw the white lady girl but there’s nothing. Father recommend me to go home and rest. After that incident, every time I herd some peculiar noise. I just ignore it continue what am I doing.

Abortions Should be Made Illegal

Abortion is now spreading in the whole word and it is considered illegal. Many women are taking abortion because they are not ready to become a parent. Maybe they are afraid because they don’t know what to do or how will they explain it to their parents and how will they feed the child when it came out. Now, there are many countries that they want the abortion to be legal. But for me, it should be illegal, because it’s a great sin to God. I’m a religious person and I believe in the teachings of God. Child is a one of the blessings or gift that we receive from god. Child represents the holy child, which called the “Sto. Ninyo”. If you abort the child, it means that you killed it without mercy. “Thou shall not kill,” said in the Ten Commandments. In conclusion, it should be illegal, because you are committing a great sin.

The Seaside

If I have a problem or if I want to be alone, I usually go to the seaside. I feel relax because of the beautiful sunset and the breeze of the air, which go through my skin. I see people around running and jogging and also the big ships around the island. I can hear the rustling leaves of the trees which having me a peace of mind. You can also smell the fragrance of the flower. When I take a deep breath, my lungs feel so comfortable. Going to the seaside is one of my hobbies. I really like to go there.

How to Play a Guitar

The guitar is one of the handiest and most popular instruments that you can play. Since it’s so handy, you can bring it anywhere at any time you like. Playing a guitar is not too complicated to do if you follow these steps. The first thing you need to learn is the rhythm. And understanding of rhythm can help you in the shifting of letters or cords and strumming—the way you strum the guitar. Second, memorize all the family cords or the basic cords. You don’t need to memorize all the cords, because most guitarists use only the basic cords. It’s your responsibility to keep a copy of cords, so incase you forgot something you know where to find. Finally, after you learned the rhythm and memorizing the basic cords, you can now apply it orally. Choose any songs that you like with guitar cords, and then practice playing it. Keep on practicing because it will help you to improve your skills.

The True Meaning of Mahal

Mahal has two definitions in Filipino language. The first one is expensive. Filipino’s often used this word every time they buying something or asking how much is the price and they knew that the price is expensive. Sometimes, many Filipino people competing about the price, they want to compete to the sales lady to make the price cheaper. The second one is by saying I love you. Filipino’s usually said this in their love ones. For example, if you want to say I love you in Filipino language, just say “Mahal kita”. We add “Kita” because it defines the word you. You can use the word Mahal in any way you like as long as the definition is correct.

The True Meaning of Sportsmanship

My classmates and I are playing basketball together. Then, five students from another course came up and ask us to play basketball. Five teams per group. Then, they ask us if we want a bet in the play. We ask each other first, then we make our decision and we agree in each other. We are in great need of money on that time because we have a research project to do and it takes a lot of money so we have no choice. Our bet is P50.00 ($1.00) per person.

And the first game started. I’m not too professional to play because I’m only a beginner. We are only exactly five; we don’t have extra for substitution so they have no choice but to join me in the group.

We lost in the first game and I know why we lost in the first game, because we don’t have cooperation, unity, and good plays. We are having a conflict in each other and misunderstanding about the play. On the other group, in our opponents, I observed that they have a sports game. They have patience in us. They have cooperation, unity and good play. They understand each other by only means of eye to eye contact. That’s why we lost in the first game. Then I told my classmates to look up in our opponents, observe what their techniques are. Then, one of my classmates said that “we should have sports game. I think that is their technique!”

The second game was started. The game was so crucial. I didn’t expect that we can win in that game. And we won! We still have a final game. Everyone is already tired. We don’t have any water to drink and the store is too far in the basketball. We have no choice but to continue the game. Then the final game started. In this time we are confident in our selves that we can win in this game. We still have the sports game even though were already tired. And the game is over. We won! Everyone is happy. We already have enough money for our research project. And our opponent feels so sad because they lost P50.00 ($1.00). They accept their lost in us. We thank them and tell them that “without those of you guys, we can’t win. You showed us the true meaning of sportsmanship. Thank you very much guys. See you next time.”
